Born in Ya'an City, Sichuan Province, she loved dancing and hip-hop rap and electronic music.

Mother Mao Yan is a Latin dance teacher who has started a dance training class in Mingshan District of Ya’an City, Sichuan Province. VAVA grew up in a single-parent family. When she was three years old, her own mother left her home without warning and she was reluctant to call her stepmother a “mother” and thus was beaten by her father.

When she was 6 years old, she heard SHE's first music album "Girls' Dormitory" and set up a combination with two young friends. She agreed to stand together on the big stage after growing up, but then the little partner gave up music dreams.

When Vava was in her fifth year of elementary school, a professional art school in Chengdu recruited her in Ya'an. Although she was selected, she gave up her chance because of her family's difficulties. She had to cry several times for this opportunity. Due to the high cost of learning vocal music, affected by family economic conditions, Vava had no money to find a professional teacher training, relying on listening to tape to learn on his own, while groping while groping.

In 2013, at the age of 18, she went to Beijing alone to start a professional electronic music production and hip-hop rap.
